Brain Mantia on drums. Amazing!
Thank you for sharing.
Hidden gem
When was this recorded? Does Dave live stream?
Added to my "Soundtrack to the End of America" playlist.
I was at this show... Champaign IL. This was completely surreal to see and hear live.
❤
Il en fait un peu trop!Il ne chante pas,il se caricature.Ce n’est pas honnête.....
Just the best
Straight up talent. Thanks for sharing it with us Dave! ✌️
I found this on The Conspirators
Such easy chords yet such a good song

West Palm always goes off! 🎉 🎶 😎
Don't go into that barn, yeah I said don't go into that barn, yeah Black cellophane sky at midnight A big blue moon with three gold rings I called Champion to the window I pointed up above the trees That's when I heard my name in a scream Coming from the woods out there I let my dog run off of the chain I locked my door real good with a chair Don't go into that barn, yeah I said don't go into that barn, yeah Everett Lee broke loose again It's worse than the time before 'Cause he's high on potato and tulip wine Fermented in the muddy rain, of course A drunken wail a drunken train Blew through the birdless trees Oh, you're alone, alright You're alone, alright How'd I know? How'd I know? Don't go into that barn, yeah I said don't go into that barn, yeah An old black tree is scratching up the sky With bony, claw-like fingers A rusty black rake, digging up the turnips Of a muddy, cold, grey sky Shiny tooth talons, coiled for grabbing A stranger happening by And the day went home early And the sun sunk down into the muck of a deep, dead sky Don't go into that barn, yeah Back since Saginaw Calinda was born It's been cotton and soybeans, tobacco, and corn Behind the porticoed house of a long-dead farm They found the falling down timbers of a spooky old barn Out there, like a slave ship, upside-down Wrecked beneath the waves of grain When the river is low, they find old bones When they plow, they always dig up chains Don't go into that barn, yeah I said don't go into that barn, yeah "Did you bury your fire?" "Yes, sir." "Did you cover your tracks?" "Yes, sir." "Did you bring your knife?" "Yes, sir." "Did they see your face?" "No, sir." "Did the moon see you?" "No, sir." "Did you go cross the river?" "Yes, sir." "Did you fix your rake?" "Yes, sir." "Did you stay downwind?" "Yes, sir." "Did you hide your gun?" "Yes, sir." "Did you smuggle your rum?" "Yes, sir." I said, how'd I know? How'd I know? How'd I know? Don't go into that barn, yeah I said don't go into that barn, yeah Don't forget that I warned ya! I said don't go into that barn, yeah Don't go into that barn, yeah I said don't go into that barn, yeah No shirt, no coat Take me on a flat boat Dover, down to Covington Covington to Louisville Louisville to Henderson Henderson to Smithland Smithland to Memphis Memphis, down to Vicksburg Vicksburg to Natchez Going down to Natchez Take me on a flat boat Dover, down to Covington Covington to Louisville Louisville to Henderson Henderson to Smithland Smithland to Memphis Memphis, down to Vicksburg Vicksburg to Natchez We got to get on
That intro is so sexy.
🙌🏻
All the noises to the wirst!
Leroi is smiling down from Heaven! Miss hearing the soul he put into every solo and into every song! There’s no replacing that!
One of my favorites Thank you Tricia ❤
Damn there goes my heart, blowing up again for greatness!!! ❤🎉
The bass in this version is so good. ❤
Thank you Dave Matthews. At this time of grief & rage, this helped me so much. 🥺💔
Thanks for this. Feeling all the feels after Tuesday.
This song and Bartender, which is fundamentally very similar, possibly two children of the same musical idea, capture Dave's voice at its very best.
Very fitting for this week...
Can anyone tell me the name of the camera operator for this video?
that piano is having the time of its life
Ahhhh. Your here
Beautiful piano
Thanks for posting this. Great memories.
The audience needs wicked credit for that three part harmonizing bahdahbahbah
One of the best concerts I’ve ever been too. I had terrible seats too. Ben folds will always be the man.
Ryan Steven McKillen Rest in peace brother
Love the jam session
He played 2 nights. I was there for one of them. Still probably the best gig I've been to.
that look at 2:05 lol!
This man is, next to Dylan, has got to be the most excellent raconteur rock and roll has ever possessed and the number one best performer!
im just imagining a pirate, working all day and night and in battles just doing pirate things... on and on and on lol
Worth listening to every version of every song. He’s the best.
Elite!!
Cheers to all of us here in 2024 still fighting the good fight ❤
They way he says thank you much
I was actually living 15 mins away from this venue and I was in my mid 20s when I heard about this show being booked and I wasn’t a Dave Matthews fan yet but I knew that this was quite an intimate venue to book such a big act….i ended up going the following year to Alpine for my first DMB show and was blown away but I will always remember hearing this show being booked and I will always regret not going to see it….THIS should have been my first Dave show looks like it was amazing and very unique
